OVERVIEW

The WISE Horizontal Cross-Lapper is a high-speed and multi-featured machine that laps a non-woven web from a card or garnett onto a floor apron. The fiber is conveyed on anti-static, self-tracking aprons or optional wood slat aprons. The laydown width and apron speed are adjustable by means of a remotely mounted display.

PERFORMANCE

The WISE Horizontal Cross-Lapper utilizes a standard AC inverter or optional air clutch shifter drive and reversing system to reach speeds of up to 70 meters per minute and provide quick, smooth and consistent high-quality laps. The WISE Horizontal Cross-Lapper is available in widths of up to 3 meters and laydowns of up to 5 meters.

CONSTRUCTION

The WISE Horizontal Cross-Lapper’s high speeds and reliability can be accredited to its solid construction. The lapper main frame consists of heavy structural steel rails, legs and cross supports with steel weldments. The moveable carriages take advantage of light weight materials to reduce shifting loads. The moveable carriages are supported and guided with a ball bearing “V” groove system capable of high speeds and resistant to lint build up. The apron rolls are made of high quality steel tube and are constructed using a double head stub shaft design to insure smooth operation and long life.

SAFETY AND MAINTENANCE

The WISE Horizontal Cross-Lapper incorporates a heavy gauge metal guarding system with large viewing windows. This system keeps the operator at a safe distance while still allowing convenient access to preventative maintenance areas.
